About a month ago, I saw a Myspace bulletin saying that there would be a special "new" release of the album in Europe. I'm wondering 1) When is that happening, and 2) what are the bonus tracks?

Here is the UK situation - the album was released for the first time in the UK at the end of last year [finally!]. Having now drummed up a bit more of a following thanks to the tour & some radio play they will be rereleasing the album this month.

The results can be seen on hmv.co.uk: click. There are three - the US import from March 2006, the initial UK release from November 2006 & the upcoming rerelease scheduled for March 2007.

According to Play.com, the rerelease will include the following:

* Bonus tracks: Rock n' Roll, Mine For Life
* Song With A Mission (video)
* Tony The Beat (video)
* Tony The Beat ringtone
* Wallpaper

It is odd how they keep using LIA tracks as b-sides on the UK releases. The original Tony single was backed by Hit Me, the Tony the Beat iTunes EP had a couple of LIA tracks & now here we go again. I wonder if the debut will ever see a proper UK release...

Edit: it has just occured to me that this means that when they play Birmingham next week it should now be more likely that they will play Mine For Life, my favourite track from LIA.

Dear Mr Satisfaction,

Firstly, may I just say that you have listened to The Sounds a lot. I thought I had risked overplaying the albums yet 673 plays of Painted By Numbers is just ridiculous. Let's see; the album first leaked near the end of 2005 & you have therefore clocked up more than one listen a day, everyday, since its appearance. A round of applause is in order.

Secondly, what is this "Goodbye 70s" song I see at number 6? Is it a b-side from another territory? How might I go about obtaining this song? All we get for b-sides in the UK are LIA songs & remixes that have been hanging around the internet for months (incidently I wish Tommie Sunshine's 12" remix was on the Tony the Beat single rather than Rex The Dog Extras & Instrumental).
